On December 16, 2025, Merritt RCMP received a call from BC Emergency Health Services requesting police assistance at a disturbance. RCMP members arrived at the house with paramedics to find Pamela Jarvis, 45, suffering from significant injuries. Pamela Jarvis was transported to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The suspect fled the residence prior to police arrival but was subsequently located and arrested and he remains in custody. Investigators can confirm that this was an isolated incident and that the individuals involved were known to one another.
The BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) was engaged and assumed conduct of the investigation into Pamela’s death.
On December 17, 2025, 49-year-old Christopher Bernard Jarvis was charged with the second-degree murder of his wife, Pamela Jarvis.
Christopher Jarvis appeared before a judge and has been held over for a court appearance on January 6, 2026.
“The securing of charge approval was the result of a quick response from Merritt RCMP Front Line Officers and the ongoing investigation involving investigators from the Southeast District Major Crime Unit, BC RCMP Forensic Identification Services, RCMP Police Dog Services and the Merritt RCMP” said SED MCU Unit Commander, Staff Sergeant Jason Smart.
