Search Warrant in Merritt Results in Drug and Firearm Seizure

On June 3, 2026, Merritt RCMP, with assistance from the South East District Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence in the 2800 block of Granite Avenue in Merritt, BC.

As a result of the search warrant, three individuals were arrested at the scene. All three were later released pending further investigation.

During the execution of the warrant, officers located and seized over $7,000 cash, quantities of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, MDMA, methamphetamine, illicit cannabis, and psilocybin. Police also seized contraband cigarettes and a prohibited, unregistered handgun.

The investigation remains ongoing, and charges will be recommended to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

“Our officers remain committed to addressing the impacts of illicit drugs in our community,” said S/Sgt. Joshua Roda of the Merritt RCMP. “Enforcement actions like this are part of our continued efforts to disrupt drug trafficking and enhance public safety in Merritt.”
