An alleged drug dealer in Mission has lost a silver bar and an e-scooter, among other items, after Mission RCMP located evidence that he was involved in drug trafficking.
On February 4, 2026, an officer with Mission RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) – a plainclothes team of officers who undertake various crime-reduction initiatives and target prolific offenders – spotted a man involved in multiple apparent drug transactions in the area of Logan Avenue. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, which led to the seizure of drugs, a drug scale, multiple silver coins and a silver bar. The man was released from custody at that time, as the quantity of drugs located was unlikely to support trafficking charges.
Less than two months later, another CRU officer spotted the same man involved in another apparent drug transaction, this time in the area of Lougheed Highway and Park Street. The alleged dealer was arrested again, resulting in the seizure of numerous pre-packaged baggies of suspected fentanyl, along with cash. The 30-year-old man was also observed to be conducting his activities using an e-scooter. Due to the combination of evidence of drug trafficking from both investigations, the cash, the silver, and the e-scooter were seized and referred to BC’s Civil Forfeiture Office, who has now confirmed the items will be forfeited to the Province of BC.
Mission RCMP notes that although the total value of these items was low compared to a vehicle or house that might be referred to the Civil Forfeiture Office, the seizure of these types of items can still act as a significant deterrent to persons involved in criminal activity.
