Nakusp RCMP were called to a sudden death after members of the Police Liaison Team discovered an unresponsive man Monday morning.
On November 3, 2025, shortly after 7:00 a.m., members of the Police Liaison Team discovered an unresponsive man on the ground in the protest camp of the Universal Ostrich Farm. Immediate life-saving measures were undertaken by officers on site. Police-initiated CPR continued until BC Emergency Health Services arrived and took conduct of the man’s care. Despite significant efforts by both police and paramedics, the man could not be resuscitated.
The man has been identified; however, police continue attempts to locate and notify the man’s next of kin.
There is nothing to suggest the death is suspicious.
The Nakusp RCMP continue to support the BC Coroners Service in the investigation.
