Cst Sherri Wade

Born in Montreal but proudly calling Kitimat, BC her hometown, Cst. Sherri Wade brings a vibrant blend of creativity, athletic grit, and community spirit to her role with the RCMP. Her journey to policing like many officers wasn’t a straight line.

Sherri graduated from the University of Victoria in 1992 with a BFA in Theatre, stepping straight into the performing arts world. One of her best-kept secrets: she spent 1992–93 touring Saskatchewan with Saskatchewan Express, a high‑energy musical revue that had her singing, acting, and dancing her way across the Prairies.

After returning to BC, throughout the 90’s she coached gymnastics full time in Nanaimo working as a full‑time gymnastics coach and triathlon coach, while at the same time, completing four Ironman competitions- an impressive feat to say the least.

At age 36, Cst Wade made the bold decision to join the RCMP, bringing with her a wealth of experience from working with youth and athletes.

RCMP Career Path

  • 2006–2010 – North Vancouver RCMP, General Duty & Youth Unit
  • 2010–2016 – Nanaimo RCMP, Youth Unit
  • 2016–Present – Intimate Partner Violence Investigator & Child Interviewer (ages 4–16)

Sherri’s background in coaching, theatre, sport, and youth engagement has proven invaluable. In her current role as an Intimate Partner Violence Investigator and Child Interviewer, she is known for her empathy, communication skills, and ability to connect with people—especially children and families navigating difficult situations. This has earned her respect across the detachment and within the community.

Outside of policing, Sherri remains active in community theatre, and is passionate about dogs, who return her affection, usually in exchange for treats.

From stage to the start line and now, the front-line, Cst. Sherri Wade’s path is anything but typical. But that’s exactly what makes her the officer, teammate, and community member she is today. If you see Cst Wade out and about, please feel free to say hi to her- as she’s always willing and ready to connect with community members.
