Police investigating shots fired incident

The Nanaimo RCMP is investigating an incident involving shots fired from a vehicle towards persons in a local park. The incident occurred at approximately 8:40 PM on Wednesday June 3, 2026, in Knowles Park, located near the intersection of Old Victoria Road and Ranier St.

Police attended and confirmed that shots were fired and that the suspect vehicle was described as a white Audi. There were several occupants in the vehicle that fled immediately afterwards. There were no injuries reported.

Investigators believe shooting was targeted, and there is no ongoing risk to the public.

The scene has been processed by the Forensic investigators and police are actively pursuing leads which includes locating the suspect vehicle. 

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area from 8:30 PM to 9 PM or who may have dash camera or CCTV footage, to contact the Nanaimo RCMP. This includes anyone who may have seen a white Audi traveling in the area around the time of the incident.
