The BC Provincial Extortion Task Force is announcing that two individuals have been charged in connection with two separate shooting incidents that occurred in Surrey in 2025.
On October 12, 2025, police responded to a report of shots fired at a residence in the 13000-block of 103A Avenue in Surrey. As a result of the incident, a female victim sustained injuries.
On October 16, 2025, police responded to a report of shots fired at a café in the 8400-block of 120 Street. Although the business was closed at the time, two employees were inside but were not injured.
The BC Extortion Task Force assumed conduct of both investigations after potential linkages between the incidents were identified. Since that time, investigators have worked closely with policing partners to advance the investigations.
On November 1, 2026, the BC Provincial Extortion Task Force, in coordination with CFSEU-BC and Surrey Police Service, arrested two individuals in Surrey, B.C.
The BC Prosecution Service has approved the following charges against 22-year-old Pardeep Singh and 22-year-old Saveer Khan:
- One count each of reckless discharge of a firearm in relation to the October 12, 2025 incident; and
- One count each of reckless discharge of a firearm in relation to the October 16, 2025 incident.
Both individuals remain in custody.
“These charges are the result of extensive investigative work conducted over the past year, including multiple judicial authorizations, search warrants, and detailed analysis of evidence,” said Chief Superintendent Duncan Pound, Lower Mainland District Operations Officer and Assistant District Commander “We recognize and share the concerns these incidents created within the community and have worked diligently as an integrated team to continue gathering the evidence which has resulted in the charges announced today. These charges should serve as another clear message to those involved in extortion related violence that law enforcement is working collaboratively to ensure public safety."
In September 2025, the BC Provincial Extortion Task Force was established to coordinate and enhance investigations into extortion-related offences affecting communities across the province.
Led by the BC RCMP, the task force is comprised of members from several policing and law enforcement agencies, including the Abbotsford Police Department, Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit - British Columbia (CFSEU-BC), Delta Police Department, Metro Vancouver Transit Police, Surrey Police Service, and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
Through its investigative efforts, the BC Extortion Task Force has secured 28 charges against 14 individuals. The Task Force has also played a key supporting role in the Langley RCMP's E-PURSUANCE project and provided assistance to numerous policing and law enforcement partners throughout Canada, helping to strengthen a coordinated response to extortion-related violence.
