North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP is investigating a serious assault that occurred late Friday evening.
On May 1, 2026, at approximately 11:00 p.m., North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP officers were on patrol in the area of a local London Drugs when they located a 41‑year‑old man suffering from serious injuries. The investigation unfolded with support from the Island District Forensic Identification Section and Police Dog Services. North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) has assumed conduct of the investigation.
The incident is believed to be isolated, and there is no ongoing risk to the public at this time.
