North Vancouver RCMP are investigating a serious collision at the intersection of West 3rd Street and Mahon Avenue in North Vancouver.

On June 30, 2026, at approximately 9:45 a.m., North Vancouver RCMP received several reports of a serious collision involving a TransLink bus at the intersection of West 3rd Street and Mahon Avenue. Frontline RCMP officers along with Metro Vancouver Transit Police and paramedics attended the scene.

Initial information provided by witnesses indicates that the bus was travelling westbound on West 3rd Street when the driver experienced a medical emergency, causing the bus to collide with several parked vehicles and a tree. The bus was occupied at the time of the collision.

The driver was transported to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services and is currently receiving medical treatment. One passenger also received minor injuries and was taken to hospital. No further information regarding the driver's condition will be released at this time to protect their privacy.

“We are relieved that no passengers were seriously injured in this collision, and our thoughts are with the bus driver as they receive medical care,” said Corporal Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. “The RCMP is conducting a thorough investigation and working closely with partner agencies, including the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS), to determine the circumstances that led to this incident.”

Anyone who witnessed or has video of the collision is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604 985 1311 and quote file 26-13248.
