Three Port Alberni youth arrested for Arson

On June 16, 2026, at approximately 3:00 pm, Port Alberni RCMP responded to a report of a railcar on fire in the 3300 Block of Harbour Road. 

A witness described the three suspects observed running from the scene. CCTV also showed three suspects climbing into the railcar before the fire and climbing out moments before smoke and flames were visible. 

The railcar was consumed by the fire, causing irreparable damage.

RCMP located and arrested the three suspects, all youth. 

Police want to extend thanks to the witness who quickly alerted Port Alberni Fire Department and who provided details that assisted in the timely arrest of these suspects.
