Superintendent Darin Rappel
Officer in Charge
Superintendent Darin Rappel is the current Officer in Charge of the Prince George Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
Superintendent Rappel grew up in Northern Alberta and joined the RCMP in 2001. His career began in Williams Lake where he gained experiences in small town policing.
He then moved to Kamloops, B.C. in 2005, working in Serious Crime, Property Crime and in the Professional Responsibility Unit. He returned to Northern B.C in 2017 in the Professional Responsibility role, followed by a promotion to the Staff Sergeant in charge of the General Investigative Section.
Superintendent Rappel was promoted to Inspector in 2021 as the Investigative Services Officer and promoted once more to the role of Officer in Charge of the Prince George RCMP in 2024.
Administration
This area includes the Detachment Commander, the Operations Officer, the Investigative Services Officer and the Operations Support Non-Commissioned Officer.
These positions are supported by the Municipal Manager of Police Support Services, the Administrative Assistant Detachment Manager, the Operations Assistant Detachment Manger and the Executive Assistant to the Officer in Charge.
The responsibilities of this group go beyond the daily administration of the detachment, to include work in the area of quality assurance, strategic planning, corporate planning and liaisons with the City of Prince George.
