Police investigating early morning shooting

Prince George RCMP is currently at the location of a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, just after 3:00 a.m.

Police officers were called to a residence on the 3300-block of Redwood Street after receiving reports of gunshots in that area. Investigators arrived at the home and located two people inside suffering from gun shot wounds. The victims were subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Police officers are asking that anyone who saw any suspicious persons or vehicles on the street around the time of the shooting please contact police with that information. Investigators would also like anyone with video surveillance in that neighbourhood to please check their cameras, including doorbell cameras, for any people or vehicles moving through the area that they do not recognize from their neighbourhood.   

“Though this investigation is just beginning, investigators have reason to believe that this was a targeted incident. However, though the public was not the target, shootings in our city require that we all pay extra attention to what is happening in our neighbourhoods and report anything suspicious to the police for us to investigate,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

To address the increased weapons violence we have experienced recently, the Problem Oriented Policing team has set up enhanced patrols in these neighbourhoods, focusing this targeted enforcement action on those known to be associated with organized crime and, in turn, increasing community safety. 

The investigation remains ongoing, and police expect to remain in the neighbourhood for some time.
