Motor Vehicle Incident on Highway 16 West closes highway

The road has been reopened

Prince George RCMP is currently on location at the Mud River Bridge on Highway 16 West in response to a two-vehicle collision that involved a semi-trailer truck and a pickup truck.
The incident was reported to police just after 12:00 p.m. and Frontline police have since closed the highway in both directions.
“There are two passengers in the pickup truck that are being dealt with by first responders at the location; the extent of any injury is currently unknown to police. We ask that anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash camera footage of the incident or the vehicles’ driving behaviour prior to, contact our non-emergency line to speak with an investigator,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Drivers are encouraged to check for alternate routes or postpone travel through that area as it is unknown how long the highway will remain closed.
