Search for Kira Hammerstrom continues with updated photos

Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit continues the search for 23-year-old Kira Louise Margaret Hammerstrom who was first reported missing on May 13, 2026.
“Investigators worked throughout the weekend to uncover any information that will lead to us locating Kira,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for Prince George RCMP. “We are asking that anyone with information on her whereabouts please contact the Prince George RCMP’s non-emergency line to speak with a police officer.”
Video surveillance obtained by police over the weekend shows what Kira was wearing in the morning of May 13, though it is believed she changed sometime throughout that day. Investigators are releasing these updated photos to help the public recall any potential sightings of Kira from that morning.
In the photos from the video surveillance, Kira can be seen wearing a black, short-sleeve t-shirt and grey sweatpants. She is wearing black flip flops, with one black sock and one red sock. She is carrying a black crossbody bag with a green toy attached to the bag.
Also included in this media release are several recent photos retrieved from Kira’s social media accounts.
Kira’s family and friends are very concerned for her well being. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kira Margaret Louise Hammerstrom is urged to contact their local police, or Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
