In just a few weeks, the 2026 Tour de North team will officially begin this year’s tour, embarking on an unforgettable journey through the heart of Northern British Columbia. From small rural communities to bustling northern hubs, the riders will travel hundreds of kilometres, bringing the community spirit and heart that make Tour de North such a uniquely northern experience.

As part of their training before the official tour begins, the riders are getting set for an escorted training ride between Quesnel and Williams Lake this weekend. The training ride will happen on Saturday, August 22 and gives residents in the area a chance to see the riders and catch a glimpse of the teamwork and determination that will carry them across the North.

“What makes Tour de North special is the people. Whether it's a wave from the side of the road, a handmade sign in a small town, or an entire community coming together to welcome the riders, the support we receive from northern residents is truly inspiring. This is more than a bike ride. It's a celebration of the generosity, resilience, and strong community spirit that defines the North,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Lead for Tour de North and Media Relations Officer for Prince George RCMP.
