Richmond RCMP investigating serious collision involving 17-year-old male

Richmond RCMP are investigating a hit-and-run that left a 17-year-old male with life-threatening injuries following an altercation on No. 3 Road late Saturday night.

On January 10, 2026, shortly after 11:25 p.m., Richmond RCMP frontline officers responded to multiple reports of a disturbance in the 4200 block of No. 3 Road in Richmond.

Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-male unconscious and bleeding. Emergency Health Services attended the scene and transported the victim to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Initial investigation indicates the victim was struck by a motor vehicle following an altercation near the roadway. Police are also investigating an alleged assault causing bodily harm related to that altercation. The suspect vehicle did not remain at the scene.

Based on the investigation, the victim was struck by a dark 2014 to 2019 Ford Fiesta believed to have damage to the front end of the vehicle.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact Richmond RCMP.

“Failing to stop after a a collision is a serious offence,” says Constable Rae Hu, investigator with Richmond RCMP Serious Crime Unit.

Richmond RCMP Serious Crime Unit has assumed conduct of both investigations, which remain active and ongoing.
