The Child Passenger Safety Program, launched by Richmond RCMP in 2022, continues to support families by providing guidance on the correct use and installation of child car seats. During the clinic, certified child passenger safety educators, including RCMP officers and trained community volunteers, will conduct individual car seat audits. These checks confirm that seats meet Canadian safety standards, are not expired and are properly fitted based on the child’s age, weight and height.
Each session lasts about 30 to 45 minutes and gives caregivers practical, hands-on instruction to help them feel confident in securing their child safely.
“We want families to feel supported and to know they’re not alone when it comes to installing a car seat,” says Constable Frank Bryson. “A quick session can make a big difference in keeping children safe.”
