Individual in custody following unauthorized access to aircraft at YVR

On May 4, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Richmond RCMP responded to an incident at Vancouver International Airport involving an individual who accessed a restricted area on the airfield without authorization. The situation was resolved and one individual is now in police custody.

Specialized police resources responded alongside our partners at the airport, and we thank them for their coordinated efforts.

The investigation is ongoing. No further details will be released at this time.
