Richmond RCMP is pleased to report that Halloween night was a safe and successful evening for the community, with no major incidents reported.
On October 31, officers responded to calls for service while maintaining a visible presence throughout Richmond's neighbourhoods, parks, and commercial areas.
In the weeks leading up to Halloween, Richmond RCMP took a proactive approach to public safety through community outreach and education. Efforts included sharing Halloween safety tips on social media, producing a Halloween safety video, and participating in live television interviews to help residents prepare for a safe evening of trick-or-treating.
"The positive outcome we saw on Halloween night reflects what can be achieved when a community works together," said Corporal Melissa Lui, Media Relations Officer for Richmond RCMP. "We appreciate everyone who took the time to review our safety messaging, plan ahead, and look out for one another while enjoying the festivities."
Richmond RCMP would like to thank parents, guardians, drivers, volunteers, community partners, and residents for their role in helping keep Richmond safe.
We hope everyone had an enjoyable Halloween and thank the community for continuing to make Richmond a safe place to live, work, and celebrate.
