It’s party time! Be a responsible host.

  • See guests in and out to assess their condition
  • Never serve alcohol to a minor
  • Keep cash and numbers for taxis on hand
  • Stop serving alcohol 1 hour before the party ends

Around the house if you are going away

  • Temporarily stop your mail and newspaper
  • Arrange to have snow shoveled
  • Discard packaging from big ticket items carefully
  • Don’t broadcast being away on social media

Shop safely

  • Don't withdraw more money than you require
  • Don’t fall for deals which are too good to be true
  • Park your car close to exits and in well lit areas
  • Don’t use public WiFi to shop on

Heading out of town?

  • Get a grip: with winter tires
  • Be prepared: Pack an emergency kit, including a blanket, road flares, a candle, a small fire extinguisher and a first aid kit
  • Cruise off: Avoid using cruise control and overdrive on slippery roadways
  • Drive safely: Give yourself enough stopping distance, avoid any abrupt turns or maneuvers, and take your time
