Winter tires or Chains are required on the Sea to Sky highway from October 1st to March 31.

The mandatory Winter Tire Zone on the Sea to Sky Highway begins just north of Horseshoe Bay.

Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) and RCMP will be out there to remind you and to ensure that you have the required M&S (Mud and Snow) or the 3 peaked mountain and snowflake symbol with a minimum thread of 3.5 mm.

Non- compliance may result in being turned away or the following fines between $121 to $598:
