On August 24, 2025, at approximately 3:44 p.m., Sunshine Coast RCMP responded to a three-vehicle collision in the 7000-block of Sunshine Coast Highway near Redrooffs Road in Halfmoon Bay.

Preliminary investigation indicates that two motorcyclists traveling southbound on Sunshine Coast Hwy were struck by a northbound vehicle turning toward Redrooffs Road.

Sunshine Coast Fire Department, BC Emergency Health Services (EHS), and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services (ICARS) attended the scene and played a vital role in the response. All drivers were transported to Sechelt Hospital in serious condition, with two individuals subsequently airlifted to VGH in the Lower Mainland.

The highway was closed for several hours to allow ICARS to conduct a thorough investigation. Single-lane alternating traffic began at approximately 9:56 p.m., and the Sunshine Coast Highway was fully reopened by 11:00 p.m.

Police are asking if there are any witnesses or dash footage, please contact the Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266 and reference file 2025-6767.
