Fatal Collision Involving Motorcycle and Truck

On October 15, 2025 at 11:19 am, Sunshine Coast RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle incident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in the 7900 block of Sunshine Coast highway in Halfmoon Bay.

Witnesses reported that the motorcycle unexpectedly veered across the centre line, colliding with the oncoming truck. Despite extended lifesaving efforts by EHS personnel, the motorcycle driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was not seriously injured.

Highway 101 was temporarily closed in both directions, with traffic detoured at Redrooffs Road while emergency responders and investigators worked at the scene.

Highway 101 has since reopened to normal traffic.

Police are still seeking any dashcam videos that may have captured the incident. Anyone with information in relation to this investigation is asked to contact the Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266 & quote file # SC 2025-8297.
