Suspect arrested and charged following a break and enter series in Sechelt

On February 17, 2026 Sunshine Coast RCMP arrested a 37 year old resident of Sechelt in relation to a series of commercial break and enter offences in the downtown area of Sechelt between February 11, 2026 and February 16, 2026. 

Through CCTV review and an extensive investigation, Sunshine Coast RCMP were able to identify a suspect and arrested him on February 17^th, 2026.

The BC Prosecution Service has approved several charges against a local Sechelt resident, 37-year-old Robin Tak. The charges include break and enter, theft of mail, breach of an undertaking, and two counts of mischief under $5000. He remains in custody awaiting his next court appearance. The matter remains under investigation.

“We would like to thank the Sechelt community for reporting these incidents immediately,” says Corporal Philippe Atoui, Sunshine Coast RCMP Media Relations Officer. “Quick action from community members who provided video surveillance was essential in locating the suspect, arresting him and advancing the investigation.”
