SC 2026-7023

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, at approximately 11:40 am, Sunshine Coast RCMP and Sechelt Fire Department responded to two residential structure fires in the closed SeaWatch neighbourhood in Sechelt.

The two fires are believed to have been deliberately set. The SeaWatch area has been closed to the public since 2019 and the homes were unoccupied.

Police are asking anyone who was near Gale Avenue North, Crowston Road, or the SeaWatch neighbourhood between 9:00 am and 11:45 am to check their dash-camera or CCTV footage.

Investigators are particularly interested in any suspicious persons or vehicles seen travelling toward, entering or leaving the area.

Police are also seeking to identify the occupants of a dark-coloured, four-door SUV seen entering and leaving the SeaWatch area around the time of the fires. Investigators would like to speak with them, as they may have information that could assist the investigation.
