Sunshine Coast RCMP are again appealing to the public for assistance with the investigation into the September 5, 2026 fires in the SeaWatch neighbourhood of Sechelt.

Police are asking residents and motorists to review home security footage and dash-camera video between 4:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on September 5, 2026.

Investigators are interested in any suspicious persons or vehicles seen in or around the SeaWatch development, the area known as the Shores and areas or residences accessed by Sandpiper, Crowston and Heritage Roads. Even footage that may initially appear insignificant could assist investigators in establishing a timeline of activity in the area.

Police are also still looking to speak with the owner or driver of the dark green Jeep Grand Cherokee previously shared publicly. Police are asking this person to contact Sunshine Coast RCMP.

“We encourage the public to report suspicious activity, vandalism, or criminal offences so they can be investigated,” says Corporal Philippe Atoui. “Police assess and respond to each call for service based on a continuous assessment of risk and the information available at the time. Several factors, including public and officer safety considerations, are considered and operational decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.”

Anyone with information, dash-camera video or home security footage from the identified areas and time-period, is asked to contact the Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266 and reference file SC 2026-7023.
