The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP is appealing to the public for information about a suspicious fire that was lit in Becker Park on Sunday.
On Sunday, August 9th, 2026, just before 9 a.m., police received a report of a grass fire around Becker Park in Vernon. The fire was quickly brought under control by Vernon Fire Rescue Services and is believed to be human caused and considered suspicious.
“We’re asking anyone who has information about this fire to please contact us so we can advance our investigation,” states Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.”
