Kin beach fire arrest

A woman was arrested and remains in custody after allegedly setting fire to property at Kin Beach in Vernon yesterday.      

On Monday, August 10^th, 2026, around 2:45 p.m., police received a report of a possible arson at Kin Beach on Tronson Road in Vernon.  Information provided to police was that a woman was seen setting fire to a newspaper box at the beach and then walking away. An RCMP Police Dog Service Team was in the area at the time and quickly located a woman matching the description of the suspect.  She was arrested and taken into custody without incident. 

The 35-year old Vernon woman remains in custody and is expected to appear in court later today.
