West Shore RCMP investigating series of thefts from vehicles

West Shore RCMP is investigating a series of thefts from vehicles that occurred overnight between September 5 and into the early morning hours of September 6th, 2026, in a residential area of View Royal.
Police have received numerous reports of thefts from vehicles parked on De Goutiere Place, Chilco Road, and Kaleigh Lane.
Following a canvass of the area, investigators have identified two male suspects. The West Shore RCMP is seeking assistance from the public to identify these individuals.
Suspect 1: Suspect photo unavailable.
- Male with dark facial hair stubble or a moustache
- Wearing a black hooded sweater or jacket with a small white logo on the left chest, black pants, and black shoes with light-coloured shoelaces.
Suspect 2: Photo provided.
- Male approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall
- Fair complexion
- Some facial hair stubble
- Wearing a baseball cap and a light-coloured sweater with the word “Reebok” on the front under a triangle
- Carrying a dark-coloured backpack with distinct white lines around the zippers.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents, or anyone who recognizes the descriptions provided, is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264. Information can also be provided anonymously online or by calling Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
The West Shore RCMP would like to remind the public to remain vigilant and take proactive steps to secure their vehicles. To reduce the risk of theft, residents are encouraged to:
- Remove all valuables from their vehicles, including electronics, wallets, and bags.
- Ensure all doors and windows are locked, even for short periods.
- Park in well-lit areas whenever possible.
