The West Shore RCMP Municipal Traffic Unit is dedicated to keeping our roads safe. Our team focuses on investigating collisions, enforcing the Motor Vehicle Act, and protecting pedestrians and motorists through education and proactive policing.
Our recent efforts include:
- School Zone Safety: We conducted 513 patrols in 2025, rotating through all our local schools to keep students safe.
- Community Response: Increasing patrols in areas where residents have reported traffic concerns.
- Sobriety Checks: Using roadblocks to ensure impaired drivers are taken off the road.
- E-Mobility Education: Helping the community understand the legal use of e-bikes and e-scooters.

2025 West Shore RCMP Traffic statistics:
- Officers issued 1,821 tickets and 1,137 warnings,
- 193 impaired drivers were removed from from West Shore roads.
- Officers responded to 1,072 Collisions, 6 of which resulted in fatalities
