On February 28, 2026 the Sea to Sky RCMP (Whistler Detachment) received a report of a missing person. The missing 78-year old male was not a Whistler resident, however an investigation involving a number of police agencies determined that Whistler was his last-known location.
On March 5, 2026 the male was located deceased beyond the ski area boundary on Whistler mountain. The cause of the male’s death is not considered suspicious.
The Sea to Sky RCMP (Whistler Detachment) wishes to extend its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased male.
The Sea to Sky RCMP (Whistler Detachment) also wishes to extend its thanks to Whistler Blackcomb Ski patrol, the Whistler, Squamish and North Shore Search and Rescue teams, The Canadian Avalanche Rescue Dog Association and RCMP Police Dog Services, for their assistance in this investigation.
Out of respect for the family of the deceased, no further information will be provided.
