The Sea to Sky RCMP is proud to announce that Constable (Jaylene) Soegard will be representing the Sea to Sky RCMP in the 2026 Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast, an annual event that raises critical funds in support of pediatric cancer research and family support services through the Canadian Cancer Society.  The ride brings together police agencies, first responders and emergency services personnel from across the province, all riding in solidarity with children battling cancer.

Constable Soegard has been training for months, in preparation for the challenging, 800-kilometre ride that will take place between September 11–18, 2026.  The ride will also be hosting a local, Sea to Sky fundraising event, with riders cycling through Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton on May 28 and 29, 2026.

“I am honoured to be the rider representing the Sea to Sky RCMP for this year’s Cops for Cancer - Tour de Coast.  I am dedicating this ride not only to my loved ones who have lost their battle to cancer, but to anybody whose lives that have been affected by this disease.  Cancer cannot be beaten alone, and I hope the efforts we see on tour from our riders bring this vision to life,” said Constable Soegard.

The Sea to Sky RCMP is rallying behind Constable Soegard, helping to raise funds and cheering on her efforts.  The money raised goes directly toward research into pediatric cancer and support for programs such as Camp Goodtimes, which provides medically supervised recreation experience for children and teens affected by cancer and their families.

Staff Sergeant Gareth Bradley, Operations Commander for the Sea to Sky Whistle RCMP said “We are proud to recognise the dedication, perseverance, and community spirt demonstrated by Jaylene through her commitment to the Tour de Coast. Riding 800km is no small feat. Beyond the uniform, this initiative highlights the meaningful connections our members continue to build with our community and helping those in need.”
