Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act

The Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act (PSDPA) encourages public servants to come forward if they suspect wrongdoing of a public interest nature, in the workplace. It provides confidentiality and protection from reprisal. The PSDPA is not intended to duplicate or replace existing RCMP processes.
Examples of wrongdoing under the PSDPA
- a contravention of a federal or provincial law or regulation
- a misuse of public funds or a public asset
- gross mismanagement
- creating danger to the life, health or safety of persons or to the environment
- a serious breach of a code of conduct
Cases of wrongdoing in the RCMP
Making a disclosure
RCMP employees can report a possible wrongdoing to:
- their immediate supervisor
- the Professional Responsibility Officer
- the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner of Canada
