Regional Commander, Northwest Region
Assistant Commissioner Lisa Moreland has served as a police officer for over two decades and has amassed a wide range of policing experience. Her career commenced within a large municipal police service in the Greater Toronto Area before transferring to the RCMP in the early 2000's. As a proud member of the RCMP she has served in three provinces across Canada and has developed an array of diverse experiences as both an investigator and manager within senior leadership roles of command. She has extensive experience within frontline policing, plain clothes investigations, Human Resources Business lines, and Federal Policing.
On April 1st, 2024, Assistant Commissioner Moreland transitioned into the Regional Commander role for the Northwest Region, assuming oversight of all Federal programs in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (specifically: National Security, Cybercrime, Serious and Organized Crime, Financial Crime, Protective Services, Criminal Intelligence, Covert Operations, and Specialized Police Services).
In today's rapidly changing world, she is dedicated to working with her employees and colleagues to advance and shape the future of public safety within the ever-evolving Federal Policing theatre of operations. Assistant Commissioner Moreland is steadfast in her commitment to achieving this through bold leadership that honours RCMP traditions, while leveraging innovation, strategic partnerships and technologies that enhance public safety.
