All Canadian government departments and agencies that charge fees for services are governed by the Service Fees Act. This includes the Canadian Firearms Program.
The Service Fees Act increases transparency, accountability and predictability regarding service fees. It helps to ensure that fees charged to Canadians by federal departments and agencies remain current and reflect the costs of delivering related services.
