Integrated Safety and Security Group community relations
On this page
The RCMP, along with its partners from the Integrated Safety and Security Group (ISSG), is committed to engaging with the local community as Canada hosts the 2025 G7 Leaders' Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta. We recognize the importance of open communication, trust, and collaboration to minimize the event's impact on daily life for residents, visitors, and businesses. Our approach to community relations includes providing information, addressing concerns, and being accessible to ensure the needs of the local population are respected.
To ensure open communication and minimize the Summit's impact, we've implemented several initiatives to keep residents and visitors informed and provide avenues for feedback. These efforts are designed to make it easier for the community to stay updated and connected with the ISSG throughout the 2025 G7 Leaders' Summit.
G7 Community Information Centre
On May 12, we opened a G7 Community Information Centre in the Kananaskis area where residents can meet with members of the ISSG, ask questions, and voice any concerns related to the Summit. This centre serves as a hub for community engagement, offering resources and up-to-date information on Summit activities that may affect the local area.

Dedicated communication channels
To keep residents informed and answer any enquiries, we've set up a toll-free phone line and a dedicated email inbox. These channels are available for questions about road closures, parking restrictions, restricted areas, and other local impacts. Our team is committed to providing timely and clear responses to all community enquiries.
Support for local businesses
We understand that businesses in the area may be concerned about potential disruptions due to summit activities. The ISSG is working closely with business owners to share information and minimize any impact on regular operations, while also ensuring a secure environment for the Summit.
