Parking restrictions on all motorized vehicles will be in effect leading into Kananaskis Valley in advance of the G7 2025 Leaders' Summit.
Restrictions will begin at 12:01 am on June 14 through June 18, 2025. Police enforcement of the parking ban includes Highway 40 from the junction of Highway 1 to the north winter closure gate at the junction of the Kananaskis Lakes Trail.
The parking restrictions are necessary to ensure the safety of internationally protected persons, summit participants and for the safe movement of police vehicles working along the corridor.
The ISSG will not issue monetary fines, however, any motorized vehicles parked in the restricted area may be subject to removal and then secured in a location where they can be safely returned to the owner at the cost of impound fees.
The ISSG is working in collaboration with the support of Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors.
RCMP officers will also have accreditation check points along Highway 40 and will remind motorists of the restrictions as they travel through the Kananaskis Valley. Please note, the authority for parking restrictions falls under Section 43 of the Alberta Traffic Safety Act.
The ISSG wishes to thank motorists in advance for their cooperation and their support to ensure the safety of world leaders, summit participants and the public.
