On December 30, 2025, Powerview RCMP received information that Brock Mann, 25, from Winnipeg, was hiding at a residence in Black River First Nation, and that he may be in possession of a firearm.
Mann, who was on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching statutory release conditions, was believed to be inside a residence on Sesame Crescent in the community. He had previously fled a community-based residential facility in Calgary, Alberta where he was required to stay.
On December 31, 2025, at approximately 4:30 pm, Powerview RCMP, along with the Manitoba RCMP East District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (MED CREST), Police Dog Service (PDS) and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended the residence. Mann refused to comply with numerous demands from officers to exit the residence.
Officers deployed tear gas and were able to safely arrest Mann without further incident.
A loaded firearm was subsequently seized from the residence.
Mann remains in custody.
Powerview RCMP continue to investigate.
