On February 17, at approximately 11 p.m., Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a reported stabbing that occurred in the city, near the 100-block of Saskatchewan Avenue East.
A 42-year-old male was walking westbound in a back alley when he encountered a male and female. During this encounter, a second female came up from the victim’s side and stabbed him. The suspects then left.
After the incident, the victim managed to make his way to a nearby building to get help. He was taken to hospital in Portage la Prairie, then transferred to Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.
He was in stable condition at last report.
RCMP continue to investigate.
