Selkirk RCMP investigating break-in and theft, several firearms stolen

On March 8, at approximately 1 :10 p.m., Selkirk RCMP responded to a report of a break-in and theft that occurred at a home along Highway 44 in the RM of St. Clements.
The incident is believed to have occurred at some point in the previous 48 hours while the homeowners were away.
Various household and personal items were taken, including snowmobile gear and tools. Of note, the gun safe located within the home was unlocked during the theft, with 13 long guns taken from the residence. The firearms included:
- Two Remington 270 pump action shotguns;
- Three 12-gauge pump action shotguns;
- A 20-gauge pump action shotgun;
- Three .22-bolt action rifles;
- Two .22 semi-automatic rifles; and
- A 50 cal. Muzzle loader.
Additionally, ammunition was taken from another area of the home.
