On March 19, Manitoba RCMP arrested a second suspect in connection with the shooting death of a 33-year-old female last summer on the Keeseekoowenin First Nation.
The homicide occurred July 28, 2025, at a residence in the community, with the female killed and a 26-year-old male seriously injured.
Frank La Forge, 52, was arrested and charged last August in connection with the incident.
Further investigation allowed RCMP to identify Darion Burns, 31, of Keseekoowenin First Nation, as a second suspect in the case.
On Thursday, Yellowhead and Russell RCMP officers located the suspect as he was driving along Highway 45, initiated a traffic stop and safely took him into custody without incident.
Burns has been charged with:
- First-degree murder;
- Attempted murder; and
- Obstructing justice.
Burns remains in custody. The investigation continues.
