Road rage incident involving firearms leads to an arrest and search warrant

On March 21, 2026, at 8:11 p.m., Red River North and Selkirk RCMP responded to a weapons offence on Highway 8 in the RM of West St Paul.
It was reported that a 35-year-old male was travelling on the highway near Grassmere Road when a male in another vehicle pointed a handgun at him following a road rage incident.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., police located the suspect vehicle at a residence in the RM of West St Paul. The driver was immediately arrested and taken into custody. Police obtained a search warrant for the residence and found a CO2 powered air pistol, along with two other long guns.
The 38-year-old driver, Jagdeep Dhaliwal, from the RM of West St Paul has been charged with:
- Pointing a firearm;
- Careless use of a firearm; and
- Unsafe storage of a firearm.
He has been released with condition and will be appearing in court on April 21 in Winnipeg.
The investigation continues.
