Gimli RCMP execute search warrant and recovers stolen property

Over the last few months, Gimli RCMP has received a number of thefts and break and enter complaints occurring at businesses and private properties in Arborg, the RM of Armstong and the RM of Rockwood.
A subsequent investigation into the incidents led officers to identify a suspect and obtain a search warrant for a property in the RM of Rockwood. On March 30, Gimli RCMP executed that warrant and recovered:
- A tractor stolen from a private property in the RM of Armstrong on Nov. 28, 2025;
- Fish finders, Live Scope monitors and an insulated monosuit, all tagged with the name of a business located on Main Street in Arborg. These items were stolen following a break and enter on Jan. 23, 2026;
- Seven chainsaws, two blowers and two generators that were stolen from a business on Ardal Street in Arborg on March 15, 2026;
- A tractor stolen from a business on Highway 68 in Arborg on March 14, 2026;
- Toy tractors and accessories stolen from a business on Highway 68 in Arborg on March 19, 2026; and
- A utility trailer, tools, liquor, an air compressor and a rifle stolen from a private property in Arborg on March 22 and 25, 2026.
Other items believed to be stolen, such as tools and various ATV accessories, have also been recovered. Gimli RCMP are working diligently to identify the owners.
Jesse Paluk, 30, of the RM of Rockwood, has been charged with:
- Break and enter x3;
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 x5;
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000;
- Improper storage of a firearm;
- Possession of non-restricted firearm while prohibited; and
- Possession of firearm without a licence x2.
Paluk has been remanded in custody.
