On April 15, at approximately 4 :30 p.m., RCMP pulled over a truck that was driving erratically in the RM of Portage la Prairie.

The truck had been heading south on Highway 13 towards Oakville. An off-duty RCMP officer saw the truck veering back and forth in the lane, crossing over the centre line of the road on more than one occasion, while travelling above the posted speed limit. At one point, the truck veered into the grass of the ditch before driving back onto the roadway.

An on-duty officer was alerted to the driver, located the truck a short time later and pulled it over near Road 61 North. The suspect was arrested and subsequently provided blood-alcohol samples of 0.22 and 0.20 per cent.

The truck was towed.

A 65-year-old Oakville male faces impaired driving charges. He was released on an appearance notice.
