Thompson RCMP charge male after knife pointed at store employee

On April 16, at approximately 7:55 p.m., Thompson RCMP responded to a report that an employee at a local grocery store had been threatened by an individual with a knife.
Officers learned the two had walked past each other inside the store when the suspect pointed a knife towards the employee’s face and threatened him. The suspect then left the store.
The pair had not interacted with one another leading up to the incident.
Investigators identified the suspect and arrested him early the next morning at his residence without incident.
A 36-year-old Thompson male faces a charge of assault with a weapon.
He was released from custody on an undertaking.
