Gypsumville RCMP make six arrests after weapons complaint

On April 24, 2026, at 8:45 pm, Gypsumville RCMP were notified of a weapons offence that occurred near the gas bar in Pinaymootang First Nation.

Officers were advised that a vehicle, with a number of occupants, had pointed a firearm at the victim while driving and then parked at the gas bar. Police arrived on scene and immediately completed a traffic stop on the vehicle.

The male driver, female passenger, and four other male passengers, who were in the back seat, all exited the vehicle and were arrested without incident. 

A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted, and officers located a 9mm handgun with a loaded magazine, additional ammunition, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and Canadian currency.

Anthony Timmerman, 20, from the RM of West St. Paul, was charged with the following:

• Weapons possession contrary to order
• Possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized
• Possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized
• Possession of restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammo
• Unsafe storage of firearm
• Possession of weapon for dangerous purposes
• Pointing a firearm
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking
• Careless use of a firearm
• Possession of firearm/weapon/ammunition in motor vehicle

Kara Williams-Thomas, 28, from Manigotagan face similar weapons and drug-related charges, as do the four male passengers – an 18-year-old from Black River and three males from Winnipeg, ages 14, 16 and 20.

All six were remanded into custody.

Gypsumville RCMP continue to investigate.
