Portage la Prairie RCMP arrest three after disturbance

On April 27, at approximately 9:15 a.m., RCMP received multiple reports of a disturbance at a home on the 300-block of Countess Avenue in Portage la Prairie.
Officers arrived and found that a 33-year-old Portage la Prairie male had been assaulted with bear spray. The victim was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment.
While investigating the incident, RCMP took a 22-year-old female into custody and searched her backpack. A knife was recovered from the bag.
A 22-year-old Portage la Prairie female faces charges of:
- Carrying a concealed weapon;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and
- Failure to comply with release order conditions x2.
She was released on an appearance notice.
A 37-year-old Long Plain First Nation female and a 40-year-old male from Dakota Tipi First Nation were also arrested at the scene and charged with failing to comply with release order conditions. The female was released on an appearance notice while the male was held for a court appearance on Tuesday.
The investigation continues.
