On Sept. 9, 2025, Manitoba RCMP were notified that a male infant had been brought to the Child Protection Centre by his mother with unexplained injuries.
An examination of the infant – who was less than a month old – revealed significant injuries, including multiple fractures, lacerations and bruising. Following that examination, the infant was placed in care.
The Manitoba RCMP Integrated Child Abuse Unit began investigating the incident, which included the execution of a search warrant at the parents’ residence in southeastern Manitoba.
A charge of aggravated assault has been authorized against the parents – a 32-year-old female and 32-year-old male.
Both parents were released from custody on an undertaking.
