Popcorn theft nets charge for Swan River hockey fan

On April 28, at approximately 4 :35 p.m., RCMP received a report of two males – including one wearing a Sidney Crosby hockey jersey – briefly fighting on Main Street in Swan River.
About 30 minutes later, RCMP received a second report of a male wearing the same hockey jersey having stolen a bag of popcorn from a store on the 800-block of Main Street. The suspect was located by officers outside a hotel across the street from the RCMP detachment, with a $5 bag of popcorn in hand.
He was arrested without incident.
A 27-year-old male, from Swan River, faces a charge of theft under $5,000.
He was released on an undertaking.
