On April 29, at approximately 11 :30 a.m., Manitoba RCMP’s West District General Investigation Section located a suspect wanted on a warrant at a Main Street lounge in Dauphin.
The suspect is required to periodically register with police but had failed to do so in December, prompting a warrant of arrest to be issued for two counts of failing to comply.
Officers arrested the suspect and took him into custody. A subsequent search of the suspect uncovered a knife, which was seized.
In addition to the failure to comply charges, Darren Guiboche, 45, of Dauphin has been charged with:
• Possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and
• Carrying a concealed weapon.
Guiboche remains in custody.
